Winter 2011 Classes and Gatherings

As this school year is winding down, I am looking ahead to the fall.  A WALDORF

environment is hard to find in New Jersey.  The Magic Acorn is a unique and

special program!  It may be the only place in Essex County that is offering this

great place to gather, learn about the environment, bond with your little ones,

and cherish their childhood, meet new friends and care about the community.

Please let me know if you would like to reserve a spot for the September class sessions. I am looking to make this coming 2010-2011 school year the best experience possible.

Money Saving Mondays   -  NOT CURRENTLY OFFERED - Please contact us if interested

Come with your children and your sale papers, cut and share coupons while the children play in beautiful Waldorf setting.  The adults can have a cup of tea and enjoy some good company to start out the week, while working on saving money for your family.  DROP-IN open to everyone.  You can even come without your children.   Suggested donation of $5.00 for building maintenance.

Infant class - NOT CURRENTLY OFFERED - Please contact us if interested

Learn parenting techniques, and songs and gentle movement for your little one.

Registration is required for this class

Child/Caregiver Classes on Tuesday & Thursday from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM -

Come and enjoy the structure and rhythm of the classroom as we follow the changes of the seasons in nature.  We will be singing, doing movement, we will learn poems, and stories, and have plenty of time for outdoor exploration and play.  This is also a time for the community to really get to know each other. We talk about parenting issues, and strategies.  It is a great way for the children to gain confidence in a social setting while playing with toys made from natural materials to enhance their imaginations and creativity.  Registration is required for this class

Wednesday and Thursday DROP-IN Program from 9:30 AM -2:00 PM -

The DROP-IN Program is much looser then the classes, it is open to anyone, you may come and go as you please.  There is no set time to be there.  It is a great opportunity to gather with friends and have a cup of hot tea and some of "Miss Amy's wonder loaf"  (homemade multi-grain bread).  Everybody loves to get together and it is a chance to meet new friends.  DROP-IN open to everyone.  You can even come without your children.

The Thursday play-group and DROP-IN will be different then the Wednesday one in the fact that there will be a committed regular group that will be attending.  If you would like to be part of this group please reach out to me.

$15.00 suggested donation for one adult and one child.  $5.00 for each additional child.

Share-a-peutic Thursday   -  NOT CURRENTLY OFFERED - Join our adult evening once a week.  We would incorporate music, movement and creative expression.  Nurture your creativity and then you can creatively nurture your family.  Registration is required for this class.

"Study the cycles of Mother Nature,

the gardens whispers,

for they correspond with the cycles of your soul's growth.

Quiet your mind.

Rope in the restlessness.

Be here. Learn to Labor.

Learn to wait.  Learn to wait expectantly.

Give thanks for the harvest.

 Let your harvest be

a simply abundant lifestyle

rooted not in the world but in Spirit."
